For over 50 years, the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association has been a source of information, education and support for those in the precision manufacturing industry. Our mission is to drive success in Minnesota precision manufacturing and help Minnesota become the recognized world leader in precision manufacturing and related technologies.

Free Management Education Workshops (MEW)
Join us 2 – 3 times a month for educational workshops that address the areas of plant operations, finance, human resources, buying and selling, marketing, legal issues, global business, and much more. We offer webinars as part of our Management Education series, allowing members to participate remotely in our workshops for a nominal fee. (Members Only)

Free Workforce Enhancement Education Workshops (WEEW)
We offer specifically designed workshops to provide additional technical skills training in areas such as shop floor inspection, feeds and speed for milling and turning, setup reduction and more. Join us 1 – 2 times a quarter for these education opportunities for incumbent workers (Members Only)

Free Listing in Precision Manufacturing Journal
The Precision Manufacturing Journal is an award winning, 50+ year old publication respected across the Midwest as one of the leading industry magazines. Find out what is happening in the industry before it affects your business. All MPMA members are listed with contact information in all six issues. Each issue is also available in a digital version.

Free Listing in the Buyers Guide
The Buyers Guide is printed once a year in the January / February issue of the Precision Manufacturing Journal. The Buyers Guide provides readers with a capabilities and services category list making it easy to find the resources they need. Members are listed in up to three (3) free categories based on the services, products and capabilities they provide.

Scratchpad Monthly Newsletter
All MPMA members receive our monthly newsletter, the Scratchpad, to keep them up-to-date on upcoming events, management education workshops, workforce enhancement education workshops, legislative actions, industry news and information along with member news.

Advertising Opportunities
Many advertising options are available for our members. Members are encouraged to advertise in the Precision Manufacturing Journal (ads appear in both the print and digital versions), the Scratchpad newsletter and on the MPMA Web site.

All MPMA members are listed on our Web site, in the Member Directory, allowing potential customers to link directly to your homepage.

Networking Activities
Members of the MPMA enjoy several highly attended networking functions throughout the year including: Golden Gloves Banquet and Boxing Exhibition, MPMA Open Golf and the MotorHead Drive-In Show. Additionally we offer members only activities such as tours of manufacturing companies.

Peer Group for Controllers
Members of MPMA’s Peer Group for Controllers get together monthly to discuss issues and challenges they face as the CFO, controller or accounting manager in their company. Specific topic content varies each month but, each meeting closes with a roundtable discussion on general items.

Manufacturing Based Leadership Councils
Members of MPMA’s Leadership Councils get together monthly to discuss challenges they may be facing as a leader in their company. Meeting content varies, but topics include issues such as leadership, marketing, succession planning, goal setting, employee moral and other pertinent topics facing our industry today. Across America there are Leadership groups that cost more than a thousand dollars a month to participate in. As an MPMA member you can belong to a leadership group of your peers for as little as $130 per month.

Manufacturing Compensation and Benefit Survey
Each year the MPMA and the Manufacturers Alliance team up to conduct a wage and personnel practices survey which is available to members at a greatly discounted rate. This survey is a “must have” for anybody trying to be competitive in attracting new employees and retaining their current employees. The survey is specific to manufacturing, includes only Minnesota manufacturing companies and is full of invaluable information.

Member Programs
MPMA members enjoy discounted rates to MPMA member programs featuring a variety of speakers and topics. These programs are also great networking events with an average attendance of over 100 individuals.

MPMA on LinkedIn
Join us on LinkedIn. Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association discussion group is open to members only and is another way for members to keep up-to-date on current published articles and industry discussions.

Workforce Development Campaign
The MPMA is one of the leading organizations addressing the workforce development crisis we face in Minnesota. By establishing relationships with high school and technical college programs, the state and with other associations we are having a positive impact on the image and importance of manufacturing. MPMA is also the platinum sponsor for the Veteran’s Career Fair held each year which gives staff and volunteers the opportunity to talk to several hundred veterans about careers in the precision manufacturing industry. If hiring skilled employees is part of your future you will benefit from the work we are doing in Minnesota.

Legislative Representation
The MPMA is well known at the capitol and works each year to monitor and change legislation that impacts precision manufacturing in the state. Members participate in Minnesota Mfg. Coalition, Business Day at the Capitol and the Manufacturing Summit. MPMA leadership and staff have met several times with Senator Franken and his staff on issues relating to manufacturing. Staff attended a National Association of Manufacturers meeting with Rep. John Kline. On the national level, representatives of MPMA attend the NTMA/PMA Legislative Conference each year and meet with Minnesota congressional members and staff to discuss issues that matter to manufacturers in the state.

The MPMA is an extremely proactive organization always looking to better serve the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing industry into the future.
