This October, Productivity Inc., a leading machine tool distributor serving the upper Midwest, will
mark its 50th anniversary. The company has been a member of MPMA since 1969.
Since 1968, Productivity continues to strengthen its services, and believes it is the relationships with its customers and support of its long lasting, quality builders and vendors that sets them apart from
their competition. In addition, Productivity is a pioneer of sorts in the industry, striving to be more than just a distributor of machine tools, by adding tooling and accessories, robotics and automation, advanced supply, preventive maintenance, rotary and live tool repair, machine moving services, as well as its forward thinking technology solutions that include Fast Track Vending Solutions and more.
“We continue to push the limits in our industry so that we can be the foremost expert and supplier of most everything for the manufacturing industry,” cites Greg Buck, Productivity President. “We’ve strived to be a one-stop shop for manufacturing,” he adds.
Over the years, Productivity Inc. has redoubled its ties to local community and technical colleges, and increasingly with high schools, particularly through its representation of Haas Automation. Productivity supports all the regional technical colleges by demonstrating the value and appeal of manufacturing careers through training support, live machine demonstrations, tooling applications, school
discounts on CNC machines, and by hosting a student day and job fair on the first day of the Oktoberfest Tool Show.
Over the last 50 years, one thing that has remained constant is that Productivity’s success is driven by its employees – from those who support to those who manage. “It’s these truly wonderful people who embody and continue to implement the mission of our organization,” says Greg Buck. Productivity hires and retains bright, dedicated, passionate, and fun people, and believes that succeeding is a team effort.
“It’s this culture, where we sincerely care for our customers, that upholds our strong reputation for service excellence.” He adds, “We believe if our customer succeeds, then we’ll succeed.”
Productivity Inc., established by Dan Stenoien with a unique business model for the machine tool sales industry at that time – a 1 to 1 ratio of service to sales, opened its doors in Minneapolis, MN in a location off Excelsior Avenue in October 1968. The name “Productivity” represents the idea that the company provides products and services that directly increase productivity in the manufacturing workplace. Today, Productivity Inc. continues to be a strong, long-time contributor and advocate for the manufacturing sector and is proud to represent over 30 machine tool builders in 20 categories, and over 250 tooling & accessory lines.
Productivity now boasts a 3.5 to 1 ratio of service & applications engineers to machine tool sales with over 80 service employees in its three locations in the Midwest.
Since 1968 Productivity Inc., based in Plymouth, Minnesota, has been distributing a broad range of CNC machine tools, tooling and accessories and related metalworking products.
