MPMA's Director of Government Relations, Amy Walstien, has recently accepted a full-time position as the Education and Workforce Development Policy Director with the Minnesota Business Partnership, the trade association representing Minnesota's largest companies.
She will start her new job at the Minnesota Business Partnership in November and relinquish her position at the MPMA at the end of October.
"Amy shared that she has tremendously appreciated the opportunity to work for MPMA on workforce issues over the past three years – in particular the work we did to establish the Youth Skills Training program and Minnesota State's Workforce Development Scholarship program," said President Steve Kalina.
Amy has already laid the groundwork for the 2020 Legislative Session by working with the Government Relations Committee to map out MPMA's priorities. The MPMA Board of Directors will be working on a transition plan and discussing options for the next steps in regard to MPMA's Government Relations work.
