COVID-19 Resources

Information for Manufacturers

As MPMA members and manufacturers across the state and nation collectively enter into uncharted territory with the Coronavirus/COVID-19 situation, we are providing this page as a resource for information about this fluid situation.

  • Our primary goal is to help you stay operational in the coming days/weeks/months. We are here to be a resource to our members and to provide the most up-to-date information. New information will be added as it becomes available.
  • We highly recommend that you do your due diligence to ensure you understand how your business is being impacted and how you can stay operational in these uncertain times.

Essential Business Designation

Currently, there is no set application process for the Essential Business designation, nor is there direction on whether or not companies can stay operational once an order is given.

MPMA recommends that manufacturers do their due diligence now to ensure you understand your situation and can clearly convey that in an application process or to explain why you stayed operational. If the approval process is first-come, first-served, make sure you’re ready to apply!

  • Review CISA standards and identify if you meet those standards.
  • Speak with legal counsel to confirm your understanding of your status.
  • Request letters from “essential” customers that will declare you an essential part of their supply chain and need you to remain operational.
  • Show due diligence in following CDC standards.
