Toolbox Talk & Tour: Ask a CAM Pro       MPMA_ToolTalks.Logo resized-3

Every shop has that one problem that never quite gets solved: the post that acts up, the setup that eats time, or the toolpath that just won’t cooperate. This session is your chance to get straight answers and swap ideas with people who’ve been in the trenches.

Join us for Toolbox Talk: Ask a CAM Pro, an open discussion for machinists, programmers, and engineers who want to sharpen their approach to modern manufacturing. No sales pitch. Just practical, real-world problem solving.

Your CAM Pro for the Day

Don Casanova has spent more than 40 years in manufacturing, including 13 running his own machine shop. He has programmed with GibbsCAM, Mastercam, ESPRIT, and PowerMill, and has worked alongside hundreds of CNC pros across the Midwest.

Don will come prepared to answer questions like:

  • How do you stay sharp on new software updates without losing production time?
  • How do you handle custom macros or machine options (like probing or part transfer) inside the CAM environment?
  • What’s the best way to keep your tool library standardized across multiple programmers and machines?

He’ll also be ready for audience questions, so bring your toughest CAM challenges or send them in advance to cindy@mpma.com.

Following the talk, Precise Products Corp will host a tour of their facility, giving guests an inside look at their state-of-the-art CNC facility.

The event details:

1:00 pm - Check-in
1:30 - 2:30 pm - Presentation Midwest CAM
2:30 - 3:00 pm - Tour Precise Products
