BRAAS Robotics & Hales Machine Tool, Inc host MPMA Member Program: Using Collaborative Robots to Tend CNC Machine Cells

If you have ever wondered how a collaborative robot works directly with a machine cell – come find out at a 30-minute training session that will show how Universal Robot model UR10 automatically loads and unloads bar stock with a CNC machine.

The training will consist of:

  • Differences between a collaborative robot and a traditional robot.
  • What applications are suitable for a collaborative robot and when to use traditional robots.
  • How the Universal Robot is wired to the CNC.
  • The programming changes needed in the CNC to interface with the Universal Robot.
  • Why automatic clamping and automatic doors are important variables to consider when using collaborative robots.
  • Project variables to consider when implementing a collaborative robot to tend a CNC.
  • General pricing for installations and return on investment.

There will be three technical sessions on the half hour and the time between can be used to ask questions at any of the robot stations.

  • 2:30 to 3:00 p.m.
  • 3:30 to 4:00 p.m.
  • 4:30 to 5:00 p.m.

There will also the Universal Robot models UR5 and UR3 available for review and to do hands on programming. Snacks and beverages will be available.
