About the Role We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at our Hamel production facility. This is a critical role supporting high-precision manufacturing in the medical device industry. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, communicative, and thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment. You’ll lead and support initiatives across engineering, operations, and quality to ensure efficient, compliant, and scalable manufacturing processes. ________________________________________ What You’ll Do • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, with a strong focus on Swiss-style lathes, milling, lathe, laser, tumbling, passivation, and other precision machining and finishing technologies. • Define, document, and validate processes in compliance with FDA regulations and ISO 13485 standards. • Lead and support process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), SPC, MSA, and NCR investigations. • Create and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, validation protocols, and reports. • Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction. • Collaborate closely with production, quality, and cross-functional teams to establish priorities and action plans. • Ensure processes are developed and monitored to meet cycle time and throughput targets. • Interface with customers, managing technical communications and providing updates on manufacturability, improvement projects, and issue resolution. • Utilize SolidWorks to design fixtures, tools, and support manufacturing needs. • Support CNC programming efforts and provide feedback on CAM strategies;must understand basic G-code and tool paths. • Provide day-to-day support on the production floor, identifying and resolving issues, and mentoring operators and technicians. • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results across teams. ________________________________________ What We’re Looking For Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field) • 3+ years of engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in medical devices • Hands-on experience with Swiss-style lathes (Citizen, Star, Tsugami, etc.) • Proficient in GD&T, process validation, SPC, MSA, and technical writing • Working knowledge of SolidWorks • Basic understanding of CNC programming and CAM systems • Strong interpersonal skills – able to lead, influence, and communicate effectively across all levels • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities • Team player with a strong sense of ownership and problem-solving mindset Preferred: • Experience supporting customer communications in a technical role • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools • Prior experience with high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing
