Job Description:
Brenk Brothers Inc. is looking for an experienced machinist to setup and operate twin-turret, twin-spindle CNC lathes.
Tasks
Observe machine operations to detect defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting the machine as necessary for accuracy and precision.
Inspect and measure workpieces for defects to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, and other measuring instruments.
Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications, tooling instructions, and operational sequences.
Work Activities
Setup and operate twin-turret, twin-spindle CNC lathes.
Monitor machine operations and adjust if needed.
Notify others of equipment repair or maintenance needs.
Read and follow work instructions, processes, and drawings.
Inspect products and record production data and document any non-conformity.
Physical Demands
The employee will stoop, kneel, or crouch and frequently stand, walk, sit. The employee must be able to reach with hands and arms while the use of hands and fingers are used to, handle, or feel parts for defects and imperfections.
Lifts Weight or Exerts Force Work Environment
The employee is frequently lifting 10 to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus, see details at close range and distance, and ability to judge distances and spatial relationships.
Work Environment
The environment is fully temperature-controlled.
Skills and Experience
2 or more years of experience, or completion of related trade school program.
Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes.
Ability to read and understand work instructions, processes, drawings, setup sheets, and inspection plans.
Working understanding of GD&T and other machining concepts.
Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices. Experience working in a high precision (AS9100 or comparable) shop a plus.
Job Type: Full-time, day shift
Expected hours: 44 – 50 per week
