Job Description:
Brenk Brothers Inc. is looking for an experienced machinist to setup and operate 3, 4, or 5 axis milling machines. At this time we are also considering machinists with operator-level experience.
Tasks
Observe machine operations to detect defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting the machine as necessary for accuracy and precision.
Inspect and measure workpieces for defects to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, and other measuring instruments.
Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications, tooling instructions, and operational sequences.
Work Activities
Setup 3, 4, and 5 axis milling machines for operation
Controlling Machines and Processes
Handling and Moving Objects
Making Decisions and Solving Problems
Load tools into production equipment.
Load materials or workpieces onto production equipment.
Notify others of equipment repair or maintenance needs.
Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
Record production data.
Physical Demands
The employee will stoop, kneel, or crouch and frequently stand, walk, sit. The employee must be able to reach with hands and arms while the use of hands and fingers are used to, handle, or feel parts for defects and imperfections.
Lifts Weight or Exerts Force Work Environment
The employee is frequently lifting 10 to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus, see details at close range and distance, and ability to judge distances and spatial relationships.
Work Environment
The environment is fully temperature-controlled.
Skills and Experience
Years of Experience: 5+ preferred for setup level, will consider less for operator level
Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
CNC Setup of Milling Machines: Ability to setup CNC milling machines is a requirement.
Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
Job Type: Full-time, day shift
Expected hours: 44 – 50 per week
