The Opportunity The Finance & Accounting Manager leads day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and clear operational visibility. This role owns cost accounting, ERP process management, and month-end close while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making with the CEO and fractional CFO. This position is designed for someone who is hands-on today and ready to grow into expanded leadership responsibility as the company scales. You will strengthen financial processes, develop the Accounting Specialist, and help build a scalable, modern finance function for the company’s next stage of growth. Key Responsibilities • Lead accurate, timely month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. • Own and maintain cost accounting structure, including BOMs, routings, labor/overhead rates, and job costing. • Manage ERP finance functions (Infor SyteLine), driving workflow, automation, and reporting improvements. • Oversee AP/AR, internal controls, compliance activities, and cash management support. • Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and operational decision-making with the CEO and fractional CFO. • Partner with Operations on inventory valuation, material/labor standards, and margin visibility. • Prepare audit/tax documentation and coordinate with external advisors (banking, audit, and tax). • Coach and develop the Accounting Specialist to support accuracy, ownership, and team growth. • Provide clear, concise financial insights to leadership. Qualifications (Required) • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment. • Strong understanding of cost accounting, standard costing, BOMs, and routings. • ERP experience required;SyteLine, Epicor, Acumatica or similar preferred. • Proficiency in Excel and standard reporting tools. • Prior supervisory or mentorship experience preferred. • Demonstrated success in month-end close ownership and financial reporting.
