Events & Workforce Programs Manager (Full-Time)

Job Summary
The Events & Workforce Programs Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing MPMA’s signature events and coordinating programs, partnerships, and participant engagement across workforce development initiatives. This role serves as a key connector between employers, partners, participants, and internal teams.
Working across event management and workforce development, this position manages logistics, relationships, data tracking, and day-to-day execution while supporting MPMA’s mission to strengthen the manufacturing workforce and member engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
• Plan, coordinate, and execute all MPMA events from concept through completion while managing timelines and budgets (4 Key Member Events, Monthly Toolbox Talks and Community and Workforce-related events)
• Coordinate venues, catering, speakers, presenters, entertainment, and vendors
• Coordinate all event-related materials including signage, promotional materials, and on-site resources
• Manage event setup, on-site execution, and breakdown to ensure professional attendee experience
• Track event expenses, process invoices, and support sponsorship acquisition
• Manage guest registration, communication, and support using ERP/CRM systems
• Collaborate with the MPMA team on event strategy, promotion, and member engagement
Workforce Program Coordination
• Provide operational and administrative support to the Director of Workforce Development
• Support implementation of workforce initiatives including Youth Skills Training (YST), Apprenticeship, Dual Training Grant, and Employer Advancement programs
• Coordinate logistics for workforce-related meetings, trainings, info sessions, career fairs, and employer convenings
• Serve as a liaison point of contact for employers, schools, training providers, and community partners
• Support engagement in the Manufacturing Pathways Portal and related initiatives
• Assist jobseekers, students, and incumbent workers in navigating workforce programs and resources
• Maintain consistent follow-up to ensure continuity of engagement and support
Data, Systems & Reporting
• Maintain accurate records for events and workforce programs in HubSpot
• Track participation, engagement, budgets, and outcomes across programs
• Support reporting, data requests, and internal performance tracking as needed
• Assist with continuous improvement of systems, tools, and processes
Required Skills & Abilities
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience creating, implementing, and monitoring budgets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mail Merge)
• CRM/ERP experience (HubSpot strongly preferred)
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing live events
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Event Management, Workforce Development, Education, Hospitality, Business, or a related field
• 3 - 5+ years of experience in event planning, workforce development, program coordination, or a related role
• Experience working with employers, community partners, or membership organizations preferred
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
• Ability to stand for extended periods (6–9 hours) during events
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds as needed for event setup and materials
