Job Description:
AirCorps Aviation, located in Bemidji, MN, is known for award-winning restorations of WWII aircraft. We also support the aerospace industry through part manufacturing, part sales, and historic document preservation. With over 60 employees and growing, we are looking for talented individuals to join our team.
The Component CNC Machinist/Programmer is a skilled, hands-on role responsible for safely and efficiently setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, as well as machining and fabricating parts and assemblies using manual machines. This position directly supports the Repair Station, Component Shop, and Restoration Shop by delivering precise, high-quality components essential to aircraft restoration, repair, and fabrication projects. Reporting to the Component Manager, the role requires strong independence, technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing world-class results while upholding production processes, quality standards, preventative maintenance, shop organization, safety, and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
CNC Operations & Setup
Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes accurately and efficiently, including fixturing, tool selection/loading, and zeroing.
Develop custom work holding solutions and select appropriate cutting tools based on part features, materials, and tight tolerances.
Verify tooling availability and create/compile necessary setup documents and work procedures.
Manual Machining & Fabrication
Machine and fabricate parts and assemblies using manual lathes, mills, grinders, Press Brakes, and other shop equipment.
Cross-train on a variety of production equipment to support shop flexibility and multi-tasking.
Accurately read and interpret precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.) to inspect in-process and finished work.
Production & Quality
Ensure projects are completed on time, to exact specifications, and within quality standards.
Transition efficiently between jobs while maintaining high productivity and minimizing downtime.
Perform preventative equipment maintenance and contribute to shop organization and cleanliness.
Teamwork, Safety & Professionalism
Collaborate as part of a high-performance team with a positive attitude, openness to feedback, and proactive problem-solving.
Maintain a safe work environment by following established guidelines, using proper PPE, and identifying potential hazards.
Accept and apply on-the-job training to continuously advance skills and versatility.

Perform additional duties as assigned to meet shop and company needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC machining.
Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC programming
Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, as well as manual machine tools and fabrication equipment.
Strong ability to read blueprints, interpret manufacturing paperwork, and use precision measuring tools effectively.
Effective oral and written communication skills;ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
Proven problem-solving skills and ability to make practical decisions within guidelines.
Manual dexterity, physical strength, and visual acuity required to operate equipment and inspect for defects.
Capability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment.
Prior fixture fabrication experience is preferred.
Passion for aviation, historic aircraft, precision manufacturing, or high-quality craftsmanship is highly desirable.
