Job Purpose: The Punch Press Blanking Operator supports daily production by operating punch press equipment in the blanking area, producing quality parts, following work instructions, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area. This role is focused on larger press operations, material feeding, part quality, and supporting efficient production flow. This is a hands-on manufacturing role requiring attention to detail, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality. Key Position Responsibilities: Operate punch press equipment in the blanking area and support production needs Feed and handle material safely and efficiently for blanking operations Produce metal parts according to specifications, work instructions, and quality standards Perform part inspections to ensure accuracy, consistency, and conformance to requirements Assist with press setup support, material staging, and changeovers as directed Support progressive die and blanking operations as assigned Wash, oil, or package parts as needed Follow all safety procedures, quality requirements, and work instructions Identify and escalate quality, tooling, material, equipment, or feeding issues to the Pressroom Manager or lead Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Support production flow, teamwork, and continuous improvement efforts Perform other duties as assigned to support Pressroom and company needs Required Skills: Mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on manufacturing Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety requirements Strong work ethic, reliability, and consistent attendance Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn, take direction, and support changing production priorities Ability to safely handle material and support production flow in a pressroom environment Preferred Qualifications: Prior manufacturing, pressroom, punch press, machine operation, or shop experience Experience operating larger presses or supporting blanking operations Setup experience or setup support experience Exposure to progressive dies, metal stamping, material feeding, or coil/strip-fed operations Familiarity with basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, or gauges Basic understanding of quality inspection and production documentation Growth Opportunities: Successful Punch Press Blanking Operators may have opportunities to grow into setup, working lead, toolroom, quality, maintenance, or other manufacturing roles over time based on performance, capability, business needs, and interest.
