The Leading Voice for Precision Manufacturing

The Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association is the leading the voice for the precision manufacturing industry in our state. We are committed to promoting manufacturing as the backbone of the state's economy and working with our members, industry partners, and policy makers to solve the challenges facing our industry - at both the state and national level.

This committee drives the content of the monthly membership meetings and identifies speakers and topics for the various member meetings.

  • Member meetings are held the third Thursday of the month and include breakfast or lunch, and a keynote speaker on a topic relative to running a manufacturing business in today’s culture.
  • Brews and Buzz Networking events (members only) are held every other month.
  • Tours are held every quarter (Attendance limited to manufacturing members and sponsors).
  • Special events are held four times per year: Golden Gloves (January), Open Golf (July), Shoot for Scholarships (September), Annual Meeting (October).

Government Relations

This committee is responsible for monitoring legislative activities that impact members and notifying members through legislative updates in the Scratchpad and via email. Members of this committee are involved with the Manufacturing Coalition and other grass roots lobbying opportunities made available from time to time.

Special Events

This committee plans special events such as Golden Gloves, Open Golf, IMTS (every other year), and other events that may occur from time to time. Duties include the development of marketing and promotional materials, logistical planning, and fund-raising.


The Publications Committee of the MPMA is made of members who volunteer their time to help guide   the editorial direction of the magazine. The editor-in-chief and Publications Committee members  establish editorial themes for Precision Manufacturing Journal, which is published six times per year. The Journal is the only authorized regular publication of the MPMA.

The magazine has been recognized for excellence in magazine publishing with the following awards: Association TRENDS 2009, 2010; American Graphic Design Award 2010, 2014; MMPA Publishing Excellence Award 2014, 2015, 2016; and MSAE Award of Excellence 2008, 2010.
